First of all, I want to start out with a resounding “Happy FriYay” as my daughter and I like to call it. Even though I do not work, weekends still have this lovely chill vibe to them (I think mainly due to my husband and daughter being home form work/school), and I just enjoy them so much. I wanted to share a poem today that I wrote back in February. It’s mainly a reflection of my thoughts as they relate to some of the discord and chaos that America currently finds itself in. As always, thanks so much for joining me in this space, and feel free to comment with some of your own reflections on life (light ones, heavy ones, + all the ones in between).
the world (our country, for sure)
feels upside down…
right & wrong, lost in the mix
clawing their way to the surface,
but masked by the confusion of chaos
I feel small and also lost,
but I grasp tightly to the
true things-
grace.
kindness.
love.
the warmth of famly,
a friend’s embrace.
bringing back into focus
what sometimes feels forever gone.
I wrote a post on radical acceptance this morning, and our country and the political upside down of everything is definitely something I need to radically accept!
